100% Zakat Policy
We operate under a 100% Zakat Policy, which ensures that every penny of your Zakat donation is allocated to the eight categories outlined in the Quran. This includes providing assistance to the poor, the needy, those in debt, and other qualified recipients. We prioritize ensuring that these funds are not used for any administrative, marketing, or operational expenses. Our commitment to complete transparency and adherence to Islamic principles guarantees that your Zakat is utilized solely for its intended purpose.
Example: Zakat Donation – If you contribute £10 of your Zakat to Ark Relief, every single penny of that £10 will be directed to those eligible to receive Zakat according to Islamic guidelines. No deductions will be made for any other costs.
90% General Donation Policy
For non-Zakat contributions, Ark Relief adheres to a 90% donation policy. This means that 90 pence of every pound donated is directly allocated to projects that assist the poor and needy. The remaining 10 pence is set aside to cover necessary administrative, transportation, printing, and marketing costs. This policy enables us to maintain a high standard of service, ensure efficient aid delivery, and support our outreach and educational programs.
Example: General Donation – If you donate £10 to our water appeal, £9 will be directed toward providing clean water solutions, such as installing wells or water pumps in underserved communities. The remaining £1 will cover essential costs related to delivering these services, including logistics, staffing, and awareness campaigns.
Why We Allocate 10% for Operational Costs
The 10% allocated from general donations addresses vital operational expenses that allow Ark Relief to function effectively and sustain its projects. These costs include:
Administrative Expenses: Salaries for key staff, office rent, utilities, and general office supplies.
Transportation Costs: Fuel, vehicle maintenance, and logistics for aid delivery.
Marketing and Outreach: Efforts to raise awareness, fundraise, and educate the public about ongoing crises and our initiatives. This includes printing materials, maintaining our website, and other communication channels.
By allocating a small percentage of funds to these essential areas, we ensure that our projects operate efficiently, reach their full potential, and allow us to continue expanding our impact.

You can donate your Sadaqah and Zakat to initiatives such as Build a Masjid, Livelihoods for the Poor, Sponsor a Widow, Sponsor an Orphan, Sponsor a Nikah, Donate a Sewing Machine, or support education projects by sponsoring a Hafiz, sponsoring a child’s education, or assisting young people in university and Islamic studies. Every year, Muslims celebrate two significant seasons: Ramadan and the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. During these blessed times, we focus our efforts on pleasing Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى through good deeds. At Ark Relief, we provide you with a platform to engage in a vital act of worship: charity. In Ramadan, you can donate to the Ramadan Food Appeal, Ramadan Zakat Appeal, contribute your Fidyah, provide your Fitrana, and pay your Kaffarah for breaking an oath or fast, especially during the blessed nights of Laylatul Qadr.
